THE ROYAL SOCIETY OF CRYPTOZOOLOGY
Headquartered in an ancient Scottish castle in the middle of a Loch there exists a secret society of Cryptozoologists who’s mission is “To discover and contain all potential creatures that threaten the Empire”. They are to protect the citizens of the British Empire from creatures that the world is not ready to meet as well as protect the creatures from themselves.
This secret order has existed through the centuries and was founded in part by Beowulf who fought Grendal, Thor who battled the Midgard sea serpent Jormungand, and Saint George who defeated the Dragon. From them sprang other groups such as the Knights Templar, but the core organization has existed until today.
The Society came under the protection of Great Britain in the Fourteenth Century after the Knights Templar were hounded and destroyed throughout Europe at the behest of Pope Clement V. The Society and the Templars were too closely associated to not escape persecution. The Society absorbed many of those Templars that had escaped from Europe.
In 1527, King Henry VIII created a separation with the Roman church in two ways. First he divorced Katherine and then he gave the Society the full protection of the realm by issuing a Royal appointment. They have since been called the Royal Society for Cryptozoology. It is widely believed that he did this to take some of the effect that his divorce would have in Europe as the Templars had been widely liked outside of France. The Vatican denounced him only on the divorce. It was around this same time that the Society would start to disappear from the public eye and cover its actions in a shroud of secrecy.
In time Kipling learns that these men were his ancestors who not only conquered these creatures but also walked the path of transcendentalism by defeating the beast within themselves of pride, power, lust, etc… Kipling must be initiated into this order by walking the same path as his ancestors.

Wow, love the concept. I hope it isn't put on hold eternally! 
There's also something I find pretty much amazing about rough pencil sketches with shading! Maybe it is the energy shown through the creation process.
