Welcome to WILLOW WEIR by DeevElliott Welcome to WILLOW WEIR by DeevElliott
This is a map of the town of Willow Weir and the surrounding area. In the center is the Wild Woods where much of the activity in the weir goes on. Victor (Badger) Stoker's house is smack, bang, in the middle of the Wild Woods. It has been in the Stoker family for generations. Victor's father, Lewis Bellamy Stoker was mayor of the Weir and leader of the "Burrows Brigade" until the end of Worlds War 3. "Burrows" was the name most of the animals used for the portals between the worlds. Other worlders tend to refer to them as portals.

The stone circles are used to mark the points in the Weir where there are known portals and are guarded by the animals from the woods to make sure there is no unauthorized travel between the dimensions. They are the TSA of the Weir and are under the protection of the Great God Pan himself.

The homes of Doctor Moreau and Farmer McGregor are on the outside of the Weir although McGregor's lettuce and carrot patches are just inside and feed many of its inhabitants. Unfortunately McGregor isn't happy about this and many of those in the Weir have paid a hefty price to feed their families by ending up in his wife's pies.

I'll post a labeled version shortly.

Worldbuildingwise, to have a map is a great idea and help as for the creators as for the readers. Storywise, one can already visit some places and imagine, what happens there, what happened and what could happen. Visually, its a beautiful map. Nice one.

I love how you got the slightly-aged texture on the map and on the folds, it looks great :goodjob: revamp

Doing things like maps is always a fun to do.  It helps me keep track of where characters are and for people to spot little hidden eggs.

This is a fantastic backdrop piece with a reflecting story. Nicely done! =)

Thank you. I drew the map myself based on Ernest H. Shepard's original map from 'Wind in the Willows.' It's expanded slightly to capture a little more of the Wild Woods.

Ahh I thought there I had noticed familiarity with it. It has been a long time since I read those books. I gather I should have guessed based on the Title.

Either way I do enjoy what you did here. =)
