Lon Chaney is without doubt, in my mind anyway, the greatest Phantom of them all.
The original Universal film directed by Rupert Julian (the first major New Zealand director) of Gaston Leroux's book was fantastic. The mood and the lighting was insane.
This piece was mostly done in brush and I left it open because I am intending to go in and work on it some more with charcoal.
