A1 was an award winning anthology Garry Leach and myself launched in the late 1980's. We started it as a place where we could create and publish our own creator owned material.
We then opened the door to our friends and they made themselves at home in our book. A1 was no longer ours. So this time around I am sticking to my guns. I have two ongoing strips in the book and my friends at STELLAR Labs have the third.
In the first issue of A1 I introduced my own character BLAZING GLORY. He was both a homage to the work of Jack Kirby and a character I thought I could eventually tell a bigger story with. Over the years that story has grown into something I feel happy with and is relevant to what is going on in the world. ODYSSEY will touch on many subjects as we take a trip across what should be a familiar landscape, but to John his world has changed in the past 70 years while he hasn't aged a day.
THE WEIRDING WILLOWS should be familiar now to those of you who have visited my page. The Weir is a magical place in England at the end of the 19th century. Alice's first trip to Wonderland was 8 years ago. She has been there many times over the years, but Wonderland was just the first 'Burrow' she went through. There are others in the Weir and many adventures lay ahead as she and her friends explore them.
CARPE DIEM is by the amazing talents at STELLAR Labs. It follows the adventures of a league of assassins. Each named after a day of the week under the leadership of Sir Monday. Fortunately for the rest, Monday never last very long.
In fact, the entire book is illustrated by the Stellar Labs studio.
A1 issue 0 will be released later this week and the regular month book will be released in October.
